Message from the Local President Jerrod Perry

Greetings Brothers and Sisters
Hope all are doing well and having a great summer so far. Make sure to stay safe and hydrated, we've had a couple of heat incidents this year. Take care of your body make sure to hydrate and take the necessary breaks if your getting overheated. Follow safety rules and regulations. Management is really cracking down on safety. Make sure you are curbing your wheels, wearing your seatbelt, turning off the engine when you're not sitting in the seat and removing the key from the ignition. Their have been a few people being put off the clock for this don't let it be you. We want everyone to make it home up their families everyday.
State convention in Austin, Texas just ended and was a big success. We had a few Branch members serve on committees and got to see how everything works. Thanks to Charles Montgomery, Brett Munoz, Jonathan Foster, Charles Johnson and Jerrod Perry for the hard work on the committees. There was a rally to fight for the future of the Postal Service held on the steps on the state Capitol. There was well over 300 Letters Carriers at the rally to represent for the fight to save us. National President Brian Renfro came and spoke at the rally as well as the convention. Our own Everett Wyllie was re-elected as State president for Texas. Our Editor John Stoume won an award for Small Branch Best Overall Newsletter and for Small Branch Best Original Artwork. Congratulations John Stoume on awards well deserved. The next State convention in 2027 will be hosted by your very own Branch 404 here in Waco. National has been giving updates on the 12/60 hour violations. This is being handled at a national level and no grievances need to be filed. They are keeping track of all hours that need to be input and corrected until it can be done automatically. The back pay from the contract should take place on the August 29th paycheck and should show up under adjustments.
Our branch monthly meeting October 2, 2025, 730pm at Casa de Castillo, 4820 Sanger Avenue 76710, will have nominations for delegates for National Convention and a nomination for a new Trustee.
Branch BBQ will be October 26, 2025 from 2pm - 10pm at the Cameron Park Clubhouse.
